The Brand Journalizer Criteria works for a variety of projects that include the common goal of educating an external audience. Content production projects that want to focus on a brand journalism style, without the media relations, should also use this criteria but in a specialized format.
Compelling Content Creation Criteria
Focus on the audience.
Always consider what your audience cares about and how they will benefit. Our philosophy is to always focus on what your organization’s audience needs to know instead of focusing on your organization.
Find a voice.
Find a real person and tell the story through their eyes.
Keep it simple.
No ‘technical talk’. Use easy-to-understand content that keeps the viewer interested throughout the full production.
Create content that includes relevant multimedia elements. A compelling video, photo or graphic is worth a thousand words and will keep your audience engaged.
Un-brand the content.
Only include subtle branding. Unless you are creating a commercial, your content should not be overly brand-centric. It is the a producer’s job, however, to seamlessly weave an appropriate brand presence into your videos.
