I was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio and as much as I love that city, a small part of me always knew I was going to be a buckeye. I am now in my fourth year at THE Ohio State University (OSU). I am so proud to be a buckeye and I love spreading the buckeye spirit to others. It is hard to believe my time at OSU will soon be over.
When I started my first year at OSU, I was undecided on my major. During my first two years, I took classes in many different fields but was still unable to find that perfect fit—until, I discovered the New Media and Communication Technologies major and paired it with the Capital Program: Marketing Track. The Capital Program offers selected students the opportunity to add special business concentrations to their major. For me, this combination provided the perfect mix between working directly with technology and people on a daily basis.
I have always had an interest in travel. In fact, although I do not remember, I am told I took my first trip to Prague as a three-month-old baby. Since then I have had the opportunity to visit Europe three times, most recently this past summer as a student and summer intern in London. During that time I had the opportunity to visit Prague again for a weekend that I will surely remember this time around. I have always viewed traveling as a fun adventure and, also, as a learning opportunity. By traveling the world, you get to learn about and experience different cultures first hand.
I also have a love for animals and the beautiful world that we live in. I was fortunate enough to work for two years at my local zoo. This opportunity led to some pretty amazing opportunities such as, encounters with cheetahs, elephants, and giraffes. It was also enlightening to learn about the great work that the zoo was doing to help with conservation and endangered species.
All of my past experiences have led me to this great opportunity to intern for MediaSource. I am very excited to learn all that I can from everyone at MediaSource and I am so thankful for the privilege to work here. I have previous experience working in customer service, marketing, PR, and sales, but this is my first time working in a media relations department. Although I have never worked in the health care field before, I am eager to learn and jump right in. I also look forward to exploring brand journalism. I really like the concept of brand journalism and marketing a product or service in a creative way. Happy to be on the team!
