Our brand journalism team is so excited to welcome a rock star group of interns this semester. Oliver Rouch, a senior at Capital University, joins us as our spring Content Intern and we are thrilled to have him on our team! Get to know more about Oliver in his first MediaSource blog below.

When I graduated from Grandview Heights High School in 2012, I was not exactly sure what I wanted to do with my life. I knew that I loved two things: football and film. When I decided to attend Capital University in Bexley, Ohio I knew that I could pursue both of these interests by playing on the football team and by studying Electronic Media and Film. Before I knew it, however, my love of film and video production had completely taken over my heart and soul.  The passion and dedication I learned from the game of football began to be utilized in a much different way. Instead of studying game film, I began studying films of David Fincher. Instead of reading a defense, I began reading camera manuals. Before I knew it, video production had taken over my entire life.
Thanks to Capital University and its incredibly talented staff I have found myself falling deeper in love with the art of video production every day. At this point in my career I have held four different internships in video production, entered into film contests around the country, created a full-length and fully funded documentary, and even studied abroad in Dublin, Ireland while creating a video series documenting my time in a foreign country. In that time I have learned a lot about who I am as a person and why I love to be behind the lens of a camera. Whether I am holding a boom pole, pulling focus, or sitting in the director’s chair, there is nothing I love more than helping a group of people to tell a story. I will be graduating in May of 2016 and I believe it is safe to say I am now confident that this is what I would like to do for the rest of my life.
After working as a freelance visual consultant around the Midwest and creating commercial content for a handful of different companies for the past year, I was lucky enough to catch wind of a spectacular opportunity to join the content team at MediaSource. I am thrilled to join a group of individuals that are as creative as they are hardworking and knowledgeable. Above all else, I will be able to grow as a storyteller under the wing of experienced and talented content producers here at MediaSource. I cannot wait to begin my internship with an intense passion to learn and contribute to this brand journalism team.
