Ohio State Wexner Medical Center Among First in U.S. to Administer COVID-19 Vaccinations
On December 14, 2020 the world watch as history was made.
DREAM BIG
Our partners at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center were in the race for the biggest medical story in years. The system had received its first shipment of the COVID-19 vaccine, and they turned to us to spread the word. It doesn’t take a lot of imagination to understand why this was a big story, but with healthcare organizations all around the country getting their shipments at the same time, Ohio State trusted MediaSource to make sure that the spotlight was on them for this monumental moment.
CREATE YOUR MASTERPIECE
One of our most important projects came with a unique set of challenges. While administering the first doses of the vaccine, Ohio State needed to keep all unnecessary personnel out of the area. Our creative team rolled with the punches, using video supplied by Ohio State to supplement our content and create what the project required. Without ever setting foot in the facility and with a short turnaround time, our team created an eye-catching piece of visual work that would be seen by millions.
COMMAND THE SPOTLIGHT
Our team worked the phones hard in the lead up to the vaccine launch. From the moment they learned that OSU would be getting the vaccine the next day, our industry experts were on the phone with national producers, reporters, anchors and more, working to ensure that TV networks understood why they should cover this historic event in Columbus, Ohio rather than in New York or Los Angeles where they already had bureaus. And it worked. The Today Show, CNN and more sent cameras to shoot live at OSU, making the Wexner Medical Center the epicenter of the biggest day in COVID-19 news.
